In 1986, she founded Joyce Goldstein & Associates which merged into Goldstein Gragel LLC in 2008. She was the first woman in the United States to start her own law firm dedicated to the representation of unions and workers.
Within the legal community, Joyce served as President of the William K. Thomas Inn of Court as well as the Labor and Employment Relations Association (“LERA”). She is a life member of the Sixth Circuit Judicial Conference, an emeritus member of the Advisory Board of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, a member of the Advisory Board of the American Constitution Society (Northeast Ohio Chapter), and a current or former board member of the Ohio State Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section, the American Arbitration Association’s Labor Advisory Board, the Public Sector Labor Relations Association, and others. In 2010, Joyce was recognized by her peers throughout the country when she was inducted as a Fellow into the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. She also has served on the faculty of the Cleveland Marshall College of Law as an Adjunct Professor of Labor Law. less
