About Me
Over the past 10 years, Welsey Straw has been trying civil cases. Since beginning his practice as a personal injury lawyer in St. Petersburg, he has been trial counsel in many catastrophic bodily injury cases that led to jury verdicts amounting to more than $30,000,000
Wesley is a member of the Florida Bar and the United States District Court, and he is also AV Rated Preeminent by Martindale Hubbel.
Wesley grew up in Pinellas County, Florida. He currently lives with his wife and three children in Clearwater, Florida.
He attended the University of Tampa where he earned his Bachelor of Science. Following his time there, he went to both Florida Coastal School of Law and Stetson School of Law where he got his Juris Doctorate. During his time in law school, Wesley was a Certified Legal Intern for the Duval County State Attorney’s Office. He was certified by the Supreme Court of Florida to handle civil cases for the Duval County State Attorney’s Office, and obtained favorable verdicts for the office in all cases that he tried to verdict.
In 2002, Wesley worked with Justin C. Johnson and Associates, P.A. as a law clerk, then became an associate lawyer representing clients in civil litigation cases some of which include child abuse, child injuries resulting from defective products, catastrophic injuries, and wrongful death cases.
Wesley Straw and Matt Emerson established Emerson Straw PL in 2010 to help people and their loved ones in cases where they have been wrongfully injured or killed due to the negligence of corporations, medical facilities, physicians, and nursing homes. Wesley Straw lots of experience helping others as a personal injury lawyer in the Tampa Bay area.
