Being in an Uber accident is different than being in other car accidents in the following ways:
- Uber drivers are independent contractors, not Uber employees. If you were a passenger in an Uber car during an accident, you may be entitled to compensation by both the driver’s insurance policy and the company’s additional $1 million per ride policy.
- Since Uber drivers are independent contractors and not Uber employees, it is difficult for passengers, pedestrians and other drivers to make complaints and claims with Uber in the event of an accident.
- Uber does not have any customer service phone number. They only have an email address. In the event of an accident, it is difficult for a victim to communicate with the company.
