  Bail Agent or Bondsmen:
  
  Apple Bail Bonds agents perform a number of services for their clients, to ensure they can be released from custody after being charged with a criminal offense. When a bail bond agent decides to work with a defendant, he or she will in essence take on the responsibility to ensure the defendant shows up to his or her court appearances. Either through a surety bond, a standard bail bond, immigration bond, federal bond or property bond, a bail bondsman can help you get out of custody and go home where you can spend time with your family and friends.
  
  A bail agent has a number of services which he or she provides for the client, including:
  
  1. Arranging for the client to be out of custody until his or her required appearances in court - allowing him or her to spend time with family and friends, at home.
  
  2. Providing the client with details of the bond transaction as required by law.
  
  3. Ensuring the client appears in court as scheduled, for all court appearances.
  
  4. Assisting in the location and sometimes the arrest of the client if he or she fails to appear in court.
  
  5. Appearing before the court regarding the bail bond, as needed.
  
  6. Holding any collateral collected, until the case is concluded and the bond is exonerated by the court.
  
  Booking and Release Process:
  
  Persons taken into custody by the Local Police Department will be held at either the Local Police Station Jail or will be transferred to the County Jail and will be kept there until their first court date called the "Arraignment." Bail is allowed to be posted in either facility 24hrs a day, 7 days a week.
  Before a bail bond is turned in, the person must pass a background check check through "Live Scan", which is a machine that is linked to a national database. That database will notify the authorities of any possible holds, warrants, or aliases that might prevent release or increase the total bail amount. Once the results of the Live Scan come back, that person is then "cleared" to bond out.
  
  From the time a bail bond is turned in, it takes between 30 minutes and 3 hours for a release. Release times do vary based on the workload of the jail's staff. Once out, a person will need to complete his or her part of the paper work, take a picture, and make sure to show up to each and every court date thereafter.
