The founder of Bay Area Criminal Lawyers, PC is an experienced trial attorney with over 20 years of criminal litigation experience. Mr. Cohen is a graduate of the University Chicago Law School and a former federal public defender. He has extensive experience both in the government and with major law firms.
Mr. Cohen has tried over 45 federal and state criminal cases to juries and briefed and argued more than 60 federal and state criminal appeals. He has defended criminal cases, state and federal, large and small, first as a federal public defender in San Diego, California, then as a partner in firms he has founded and managed. He has won cases and appeals in courts throughout California.
The firm has two full time associate attorneys, Cherie Beasley and Jason Campbell. Ms. Beasley is a graduate of the University of San Francisco Law School. Mr. Campbell is a graduate of the University of California, Hastings Law School.
Tonia Sanchez is the firm’s senior legal assistant. She has been working with Mr. Cohen as a legal assistant for 15 years. She is experienced in the preparation of legal documents and in working with court procedures statewide.
Tania Spooner is the firm’s second legal assistant. With 12 years of experience, she injects energy and a high level of competence, concern and sensitivity to her intensive daily work on paralegal and administrative matters.
Investigator Don Criswell works on many cases with Mr. Cohen. Mr. Criswell has over 20 years of experience in criminal law and has worked with Mr. Cohen on numerous cases in which they have achieved successful results for their clients.
