Patten, Peterman, Bekkedahl & Green, PLLC, is pleased to announce that John M. Van Atta has joined the firm. John was raised in Billings and graduated from Billings Senior High School in 2001. He graduated from the University of Montana, Missoula, in 2005, with a degree in English literature with high honors. While there, John ran track and field for the Griz. John graduated from the University of California Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco in 2008. While in law school, John was a production editor for the Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly and competed for both the Hastings Moot Court Team and Hastings Trial Team.
John’s past experience includes internships for the United States Senate Finance Committee, the California Attorney General’s Office, the United States Attorney General’s Office and the Montana Supreme Court. He worked as a financial advisor for the RBC Wealth management alongside his father prior to transitioning back to law. While at RBC, John managed stock and bond portfolios and advised clients on financial planning issues. less
