Mr. Shanfield has a particular focus on helping consumer victims of unlawful debt collection practices, including litigating debt collector harassment cases, defending debt collection lawsuits in the Circuit Court of Cook County, and helping consumers deal with inaccurate credit reporting and identity theft issues.
Mr. Shanfield handles warranty and consumer fraud litigation involving fake fees and taxes, bogus overcharges, as well as automobile, boat, and recreational vehicle cases on behalf of consumers who were sold dangerous, unreliable, or fraudulently misrepresented vehicles.
Mr. Shanfield also handles mortgage related issues, including mortgage broker, appraiser, and lender fraud, and defending mortgage foreclosure cases.
Mr. Shanfield is a proud member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA), a nationwide organization of attorneys dedicated to representing consumers victimized by fraudulent, abusive, and predatory business practices, and enjoys regularly attending NACA and the National Consumer Law Center's conferences and trainings on issues relating to consumer litigation. less
