Mr. Varady most recently represented an African American employee, Charles Daniels, in a race discrimination case against Lockheed Martin, the worlds largest defense contractor, that resulted in payment of $2.5 million settlement, the largest individual settlement in a race discrimination case recorded by the EEOC. Among other cases of significance, Mr. Varady currently represents class members in a class action on behalf of 2,721 beneficiaries of the Hawaiian Home Lands trust seeking damages (Kalima v. State), has represented plaintiffs in a federal class action enforcing the rights of Hawaii's disabled students (Felix v. Cayetano) and in numerous breach of contract and bad faith cases against insurers, cases involving sexual harassment, gender, age, disability, and racial discrimination in employment, as well as whistle-blower and retaliation claims.
